Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SocMan collects, why we collect it, how Meta platform data is used, and how you can request access, disconnection, or deletion.

Information We Collect

  • Account details such as email, name, and session/authentication data.
  • Workspace profile details entered during onboarding and setup.
  • Content workflow data including calendar items, generated assets, and style settings.
  • Billing and credit usage records linked to each workspace.
  • Support and call scheduling details when booking onboarding or support sessions.
  • Meta connection details such as selected Page IDs, Instagram account IDs, usernames, token status, granted scopes, and connection health.
  • Published post records such as platform, publish status, published media or post IDs, captions, scheduled times, and publishing errors.

How We Use Information

  • Provide secure access to your account and selected workspace.
  • Run generation, planning, scheduling, and publishing workflows.
  • Process subscriptions, trial state, top-ups, and credit visibility.
  • Connect to Facebook Pages and Instagram business accounts that you authorize.
  • Publish approved content to connected Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts.
  • Retrieve post-level insights so you can understand reach, views, clicks, reactions, comments, saves, shares, and engagement.
  • Support comment and message automation only when you connect the account and enable workflows that require those permissions.
  • Improve reliability, diagnose failures, and deliver product support.

Platform Integrations (Meta, Facebook, Instagram)

When you connect Meta accounts, SocMan stores workspace-scoped connection credentials and identifiers required to support the Facebook and Instagram workflows you authorize.

  • pages_show_list: used to show and select Facebook Pages you manage.
  • pages_read_engagement: used to read Page metadata and content needed for connected Page operations.
  • pages_manage_posts: used to create and manage posts on the Facebook Page you select.
  • read_insights: used to read Page and post insights for analytics and performance reporting.
  • instagram_basic: used to identify the connected Instagram business account and read profile/media details needed for publishing and analytics.
  • instagram_content_publish: used to upload media and publish approved content to the connected Instagram account.
  • instagram_manage_insights: used to read Instagram media insights such as views, reach, saves, comments, shares, likes, and interactions.
  • instagram_manage_comments: used to read, manage, moderate, or reply to Instagram comments when you enable comment workflows.
  • instagram_manage_messages: used to access and respond to Instagram messages when you enable message workflows.

SocMan does not sell Meta platform data. We do not use Meta platform data for unrelated advertising, data broker activity, or training foundation models. We use Meta platform data only to provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the workflows you request.

Meta Data We Process

  • Facebook Page and Instagram account identifiers, names, usernames, and connection status.
  • Media, captions, hashtags, scheduled post details, publish container IDs, post IDs, and publish results.
  • Post analytics such as impressions, reach, views, clicks, reactions, likes, comments, saves, shares, and total interactions.
  • Instagram comments and messages only when comment or message workflows are connected and enabled.
  • Permission, token health, error, and audit data needed to keep the connection reliable and secure.

How We Share Information

We share information with service providers only when needed to operate SocMan, including hosting, database, storage, analytics, error monitoring, payment, email, and support providers. These providers are authorized to process information only for SocMan operations. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and security, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.

Payments and Billing Processors

Subscription checkout and payment processing are handled through Stripe. SocMan stores subscription and credit metadata needed for billing operations. Full payment card data is handled by Stripe, not SocMan.

Calls and Support Workflows

For onboarding and support scheduling, we process booking details such as slot timing, workspace context, and meeting metadata to coordinate support workflows.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account, workspace, billing, publishing, and Meta connection data only for as long as needed to provide SocMan, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and support audit records.

  • You can disconnect Facebook and Instagram accounts from SocMan, or remove SocMan from your Meta account settings.
  • To request deletion of Meta data, workspace data, or your account, email admin@smiengine.com with the subject "Data deletion request".
  • After verification, we will delete or de-identify data that is no longer required for legal, billing, fraud prevention, security, or audit purposes.
  • Connection credentials and access tokens are removed when a workspace connection is deleted or when a verified deletion request requires removal.
  • Deletion requests are normally completed within 30 days unless additional time is required by law, security review, or account verification.

Security and Safeguards

We use technical and organizational controls designed to protect account, workspace, and Meta connection information. Access tokens are stored server-side and are not exposed in the browser. No system can promise absolute security, so controls are continuously improved as the platform evolves.

User Rights and Contact Requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or export certain personal information. For privacy questions, data requests, account concerns, or Meta data requests, email admin@smiengine.com. We may request verification details before processing sensitive requests.

Children

SocMan is intended for business and professional use. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Processing

SocMan and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. When we transfer information, we use safeguards appropriate to the type of information and the applicable legal requirements.

This policy can be updated as product features, integrations, or legal requirements change. Material updates are reflected by the date on this page.
